Privacy Policy

1. Introduction
Welcome to Meem AI (“we,” “our,” or “us”), a mobile application available on Android and iOS platforms.
Meem AI allows users to upload or select images and generate AI-powered captions in 60+ languages (memes and stickers). These captions are created automatically using artificial intelligence.
By using Meem AI, you agree to the terms outlined in this Privacy Policy.
2. Information We Collect
We collect limited information necessary to provide and improve our services:
a. Account Information

- Name
- Email address
- Profile picture (if available)
b. Usage Data
We may collect:
- Token balance and usage
- App interactions (e.g., caption generation activity)
- Feature usage statistics
c. Device Information
We may collect basic device data such as:

d. Images and AI processing
Images you select or upload are processed temporarily for caption generation.
- We do NOT store user images permanently on our servers, unless explicitly stated otherwise in future updates.
- Images are transmitted securely to our backend (Google Firebase) and then to Google Gemini to generate captions.
- We send a temporary encoded preview of your photo (not your full-resolution original unless it already fits our size limits).
- On our backend (Firebase), we may associate requests with your account identifier to operate the service and prevent abuse. This is not sent to Google Gemini.
3. How We Use Information
We use collected data to:
- Provide core app functionality (caption generation)
- Maintain and manage user accounts and token balances
- Improve AI performance and user experience
- Monitor usage and prevent abuse or misuse
- Analyze app performance and usage trends
4. AI Content Disclaimer

7. Third-Party Services
Meem AI uses third-party services, including:
- Google Firebase (authentication, database, backend services)
- Sign in with Apple, Google Sign-In, and Microsoft (user authentication)
- Google AdMob (advertising and rewarded ads)
- Google Gemini API (Google LLC) — AI caption generation from photos you choose to process
- WhatsApp (optional sticker export integration)
These services may collect and process data according to their own privacy policies.
Third-party AI (Google Gemini)
When you generate captions, our Firebase backend calls Google Gemini. Only the following is shared with Google Gemini:
- Shared with Gemini: the photo you select (as a temporary encoded preview), plus non-personal caption prompts needed to generate captions.
- Processed on our servers (not sent to Gemini): your Firebase account identifier, token balance, usage metadata, and abuse-prevention signals needed to run the app.
- How it works: you select an image in the app; the app sends it to Firebase Cloud Functions, which forward the image preview to the Google Gemini API.
- Retention: images are processed temporarily and are not stored permanently or used to train models on your personal content.
Google processes data under its own terms and privacy policy (Google Privacy Policy). We require that third parties receiving your data provide the same or equal protection of your data as described in this Privacy Policy.
Before any photo is sent to Google Gemini, the Meem AI app asks for your explicit in-app consent and explains what data is shared and which third-party service receives it.
8. Ads & Tokens
Meem AI uses a token-based system for accessing features.
Tokens may be earned through rewarded advertisements.
Tokens:
- Have no monetary value
- Cannot be transferred, exchanged, or redeemed for real-world currency
- Are non-refundable
- Could be reset at any time
9. Data Retention
- Account and usage data are retained as long as your account is active.
- Images are not stored permanently and are processed only for caption generation.
We may retain limited data for:
- legal obligations
- fraud prevention
- analytics purposes
10. Security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data.
However:
- No system is completely secure
- We cannot guarantee absolute security of your information
11. Children's Privacy
Meem AI is not intended for children under the age of 13.
We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we become aware of such data collection, we will take steps to delete it.
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
Changes will be reflected by updating the “Last Updated” date. Continued use of the app after changes indicates acceptance of the updated policy.
